Made over a period of six years by Christopher Nunn, Borderland: Stories from Donbas (2019) offers a rare glimpse of everyday life in the Donbas region. Situated at the far eastern edge of Ukraine, close to the border of Russia, it is the site of the only active war zone in Europe. Over the course of this autobiographical story, the reader discovers the landscapes and the portraits of Ukraine through the fate of a man who, going in search of his Ukrainian origins, will find a new life. The photographs, taken between 2014 and 2018, permit the reader to travel Ukraine and meet its people who have lived this war since 2014.
