Studio Paradiso contains 600 black and white portraits of visitors to the Amsterdam pop temple Paradiso. Taken by Max Natkiel during a period of ten years between 1980-1990. Compiled by philosopher and writer Dirk van Weelden who was a frequent visitor to Paradiso and met photographer Max Natkiel in the early 1980s. Natkiel saw an explosion of different youth cultures: new-wavers, rockers, mods and skins to name a few. All united in a disgust of the adult world and a fierce desire for whimsy.
