In this publication ‘It is solved by walking’ (from the latin phrase ‘solvitar imbulando’) Hannah explores the relationship between walking, crafting and making through a series of images taken from day to day observations. ‘It is solved by walking’ is the continuation of a series of rhythmic books that envisage taking a walk as a mnemonic process. Recognisable details thread the images together and the multiple combinations accumulate to form a sense of order and chaos. Images begin to imitate one another as symbols reoccur and connections are made between distant objects. Representation and repetition is explored by the form of the book and its freedom to reveal new pairings and sequences at the will of the reader.
