Arcipelago is a bi-annual magazine published by C.P. Company, launched last year. The second issue reflects on the relationship between the handmade and the machine generated. The tension between man and technology is a natural exchange of ideas within the C.P. Company DNA, and this issue explores that link in-depth. It investigates instances where artisanal craftsmanship meets technological advances, where the two collaborate as opposed to compete. For the cover, this issue explores the world of Mini 4WD racing, while elsewhere it profiles the artist Rebecca Allen and composer Robert Lippok, also examining the legendary Italian photographer Luigi Ghirri’s visual legacy. Moreover, garment dyer Zaitex’s factories are documented to show how they produce Zetaterra, a natural pigment dye made from Italian quarries, and a big part of C.P. Company’s current SEED programme. Finally, the building of a diy skatepark and vertical farming are documented.
