48 hours in Kyiv is an undressed, honest portrayal of a city and its’ youth left in the aftermath of political violence. The image series capture the lives of two young locals in a post-revolution era, captured in brave, confident postures set against a backdrop of cold, industrial surroundings.
A humanistic, gender-blurring vision is set throughout the image series. Trusting Kurmaz’ signature style, panoramas of the city skyline and concrete architecture meet green gardens, parks and nudes.
Photographer and visual artist Sasha Kurmaz was born in Kiev in 1986, right after the notorious Chernobyl disaster.
For the Eytys Spring 2015 collection, Kurmaz spent two days documenting the life of two young locals following the Ukrainian revolution. The journey resulted in an undressed, honest portrait of a city and its’ youth left in the aftermath of political violence.
