Exhibition and Book Launch: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘯 by Sam Wright

Village & New Dimension is proud to present a new solo exhibition and celebration of the book “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘯” by Sam Wright. The exhibition opens in our Manchester gallery on Friday the 28th of July. Join us in Manchester from 6pm for drinks and a chance to get a copy of the book.

Shot in Naples in the summer of 2022, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘯 captures teenagers making the most of their long-awaited summer break, adults blending in with the quaint, sun-kissed beaches of their native Naples, and elderly spending their day between a game of cards and a refreshing dip in the sea. The photographs garnered in this volume are a love letter to the beauty that lies in looking, and looking carefully. Stuffing your eyes with wonder every day as if it were your last.  ⁣

In Wright’s exploration of the Italian destination, beaming glimpses of the Gulf of Naples are juxtaposed with riveting scenes capturing the ferment that propagates from the industrial port, located in the southern part of the city, all the way to its beating heart and beyond, up to the leafy top of Capodimonte. In his eye, the miniature, urban sanctuaries dwelling in the creeks of the oldest streets of Napoli are just as telling of the infectious feel of the town as the natural coves of its bay and the joy unleashed by the youngsters diving in its crystal-clear waters.  ⁣
