Only You and Me
Through a photographic work mixing screenshots and (self)portraits, Sofiya Loriashvili questions our human and empathetic relationship to the artificial figure of love dolls, these plastic dolls intended for pleasure.
This series originated during Sofiya's studies at the Gobelins school in Paris. It explores the future of romantic relationships and the role robotics might play in them. Through her research, she focuses particularly on love dolls, humanoid dolls made of TPE (plastic) that occupy the lives of their owners. By posing herself alongside these dolls, she blurs the lines between human and artificial, thus questioning our own relationship to these substitute figures. The series is accompanied by texts written by Sofiya Loriashvili and Lucas Granger, a journalist at Canal+ , notably a contributor to Journal du Hard and Canal+ Love .
