‘I walked this road every day. Through rain and snow, mist and darkness. Sunny summer days, mornings and evenings. The sound of gravel from the steps echoes back from the trees around. The heart pounding from fear of the dark. Year after year. It is part of me; the road runs through me like a frozen river. Away from the farm, back to the farm.
