A fast-paced dive into the Tunisian techno under ground scene.
Julien Rubiloni (1986), a Franco-Swiss artist based in Tunis, immersed himself in the nights of this community, with an infrared camera in his fist, to capture these undesirable creatures, to the point of becoming one of them.
These young people, suffocated by the rules in place, seek to breathe and exorcise their malaise, far from the gaze and judgment of their elders.
Misunderstood and relegated to the margins of Tunisian society, in constant confrontation with authority, this suffocating generation inevitably becomes extreme. Their music, their relationship with the body and their rituals bear witness to an incompressible need for freedom. The artist reveals a part of this culture, with strength and rugged beauty.
