A Look At A Different Perspective

One Day At A Time Boys is an arts project based in Damien John Kelly House (DJK), a recovery community for men based in Liverpool 15. Offering a program of support based in the arts, sport and culture. We embrace recovery values of willingness, honesty, and open mindedness within a creative setting. Exploring the transferable benefits of expression, how the lessons we learn in art can be applied to real life examples in our recovery.

Through discussion, sharing and making we take a look at new perspectives. Whether it be through the lens, through writing, painting or drawing. We champion our community, get curious around our individuality whilst documenting our personal growth and shared experience.

This book has been created by the residents' for the residents. It is a collective response to the new perspectives which are shared in our community together and individually. It is a celebration of recovery, an example of what is possible when we just have a go. Physical proof that shows every time we get out of our comfort zone, our comfort zone gets bigger. We learn together, love together, create together and recover together. Art saves, it allows for new passions to develop, it binds community and helps form a solid sense of culture.
All funds raised will go directly back into the project to fund further art groups, pay for materials and continue to build on the creative culture within DJK
