It’s the closed bubble of a cultural grooming system for the transmission of cognitive and moral principles to subsequent generations, not all of which prove to be positive. Everything outside the polis (apolis activity) is unregulated, ‘uncivilised’, and volatile – the opposite of the status quo within.
