Rickey Thompson wears in Coach
From first breaking out of the original comedy app Vine to hosting his own podcast We Said What We Said with best friend Denzel Dion, comedian Rickey Thompson has been having us bent over laughing for years with his effervescent energy and hilarious skits. Few online personalities have been able to endure and grow on one social media platform, but Rickey hasn’t found one he can’t make work.
With the social media star working on starting his own collection of accessories, we caught up with Thompson to discuss his OG Vine days, his new partnership with Coach and what his pending rebrand is going to look like – don’t be surprised when he starts popping up on screens besides your phone.
Keeley Hawes dressed in Dior
From The Durrells to Bodyguard and Line of Duty, Keeley Hawes has made her name as an actress who delivers poise and nuance to every role she takes on, whatever the genre or medium. Over the next month she’s set to star in three new highly-anticipated dramas, exploring the complexity of grief in ITV’s Finding Alice and the 1980s AIDS epidemic in Russell T Davies’ It’s A Sin, as well as portraying Roald Dahl’s wife Patricia Neal in the upcoming biopic To Olivia.
Covering the SS21 issue of Rollacoaster, Hawes connects with her The Durrells co-star and The Crown actor Josh O’Connor over Zoom a few days before Finding Alice airs. Reflecting on these roles and the universal themes that link them, Hawes and O’Connor talk everything from navigating production through a pandemic to starting her own production company, and why they’d love to work together again.
Freddy Carter wears Armani
Actor-writer-director Freddy Carter is the star of new Netflix show, Shadow and Bone, a TV adaption of the books by Leigh Bardugo of the same name. Recently, Freddy has shown his versatility as an artist, expanding his work from acting into writing and directing, too.
Freddy Carter sat down with Rollacoaster to discuss his action-packed new series, the inspiration behind his short films, and his thoughts on why the fantasy genre is having such a big moment. No89is already available to stream, Shadow and Bone is set for release at the end of April, and his second short film, Broken Gargoyles, is on the way. With ambitions as both a director, writer and actor – we will just have to wait and see where his name pops up when the credits roll.
