Taschen presents the first international collection of Beijing-based photographer Ren Hang. Controversial in his homeland, and wildly popular in the rest of the world, Hang's work is well known for its depiction of human bodies as sculpture. Sometimes explicit, sometimes beautiful, often humorous. His models; friends, and increasingly, fans, are naked, often outdoors, high in the trees or on the terrifyingly vertiginous rooftops of Beijing, stacked like building blocks, heads wrapped in octopi, body cavities sprouting phone cords and flowers, whatever enters his mind at the moment. Despite their content, his photographs are free of sexual intent and gender bias, putting him at the forefront of gender inclusiveness.

The collection, which spans his entire career, features well loved favourites and many never-before-seen photos.
