Issue 7 of Perdiz centres around the themes of balance and beauty, captured perfectly in the issue's cover image by Danish artist Johan Rosenmunthe. Alongside the usual Good News section, which features Kentucky residents paying parking fines with food for the homeless and the first female air crew touching down in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, there's Smiles from a young Rodeo Girl, a cheerleader in her advanced years and a somewhat eccentric barber who'll cut your hair with samurai swords and fire.

Elsewhere there's an interview with The Sisters of the Valley, a group of activist nuns in California hoping to heal the world with marijuana; A discussion about death with New York-based artist Joanna Ebstein, the director of Brooklyn's Morbid Anatomy Museum; Conversations with positive people including bar-owner-turned-lighthouse-keeper Mario Sanz and globe-trotting hula-hooper Marawa the Amazing; A group of friends hoping to turn battling 5-metre tall robots into an olympic sport; and Artist Riika Hyvönen captures the Roller Derby women wearing their injuries as a badge of honour.

There's also an extended extract from Phenomena, a new book by Danish artists Peter Helles Eriksen, Sara Brincher Galbialti and Tobias Selnaes Markussen exploring our fascination with the search for Alien life, including interviews with people who've had first-hand experience with extra-terrestrials. Plus a comic by Andy Welfle and Andrés Magán, photographic contributions from Tobias Faisst, reflections on growing up short by Lucas Oakeley and more.
