Inspired by the cosmic architecture of the Jantar Mantar monument of Jaipur, French artist Noémie Goudal creates fragmented and otherworldly sculptures using found architectural imagery. The images are enlarged to around the size of a person and tiled across several pieces of paper and pasted together onto a light framework. The paper structures are assembled in isolated coastal locations, where Goudal photographs them with a large format camera. Their fleeting existence in photographic space and their seemingly conflicting settings play on our sense of scale and geography.
