Paris has long been regarded as the cultural capital of the world. Its artistic heritage is paved into its streets, with every building and boulevard standing as a testament to the creative free-thinkers, innovators and downright geniuses that have been there before. But it can be difficult to live up to this reputation and remain at the cutting edge while the rest of the world vies for the top spot. Indeed, in recent decades the French capital has been criticised for relying to much in its past accomplishment and not keeping up with the rate of innovation. After a brief hiatus in the '80s and '90s, a new Paris is starting to blossom, with a fresh take on fashion, food and art. The renaissance is most obviously seen in the city's culinary scene, where the starched white tablecloths of Michelin restaurants have been replaced with move down-to-earth local cuisine focussed on quality and simplicity. In the worlds of fashion and art, major houses are making room for up-and-coming talents and new ideas.

LOST iN talks with the people who are helping to shape the city’s identity: a roving fashion explorer, a creative emigré couple, an Italian architect whose made the city his home, and one of the leading mixologists lubricating the city's mood. Each share their recommendations for places to eat, drink, shop and stay; Including a hidden vineyard in Montmartre, post-industrial parties on the canal, new French cuisine on the River Droite, and breathtaking views from a rooftop bar in Ménilmontant. The recommendations are complemented by a photo essay by Karl Hab and stories from local and global creatives to help you get lost in Paris.
